NYSAFLT Awards Nominations

The NYSAFLT Awards Banquet at our Annual Conference is always one of the most special nights of the year. Colleagues and friends from around the state come together to
celebrate the outstanding work and achievements of our award winners.
Now is the time to make a nomination for this fall's banquet!
- Anthony J. Papalia Award Nominate a colleague who's written an outstanding article.
- Dorothy S. Ludwig Memorial Award for Service to the Profession Nominate a colleague who's demonstrated outstanding service to our profession.
- Language through Culture and the Arts Award Nominate someone who who uses culture and the arts to promote the teaching and learning of languages.
- Parent Advocate Award Nominate a parent who has been an outstanding advocate of languages.
- Remunda Cadoux Award for Leadership in World Language Supervision Nominate your supervisor and recognize their leadership.
- Ruth E. Wasley NYS World Language Teacher of the Year Award Nominate a colleague who is a true role model for our profession. The winner of this award will move to the NECTFL level of the ACTFL TOY award.
- Friend of World Languages Award Nominate a someone from outside of the profession who has demonstrated outstanding support of our profession.
- Sister Rose Aquin Caimano Distinguished Administrator Award Nominate a principal or superintendent for their support of world languages in your school.
NEW - STUDENT AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN WORLD LANGUAGES
While the NYSAFLT Fulvi Awards were popular for many years, recently they were drawing fewer and fewer nominations. The NYSAFLT board discussed and decided to reinvent this award to make it more accessible to our members so that more students can be recognized. Everyone knows that recognizing students for their hard work is the BEST PR we can bring to our language programs! This year we are offering student awards for excellence. NYSAFLT members may request as many certificates as they would like with a small fee to help us cover our costs and fund the state-wide work that we do.
