French Night at the Crunch in Syracuse, NY is scheduled in conjuntion with National French Week and will take place on Friday, November 13, 2026!

Explore these performance-driven and community-centered activities to bring French Week to life!

🎨 1. “Find Your Inspiration” Student Showcase (Core idea: Students explore how French inspires their future selves. )

• Students create short presentations, Padlet posts, or Canva slides titled “Le français m’inspire à…”  (fashion, diplomacy, medicine, engineering, travel, hospitality, architecture, etc.) 

• Use Flipgrid for video reflections in French: « Où trouves‑tu ton inspiration en français ? » « Comment le français peut-il inspirer ton avenir ? » 

• Add a “spark” element: students choose one francophone figure who inspires them and explain why. 

• Create a mini “inspiration museum” in your classroom with QR codes linking to student videos. 

🔬 2. Francophone STEAM Inspiration Day (Core idea: Students discover how innovation in the francophone world can inspire their own creativity. )

• Highlight francophone inventors, scientists, designers, and tech pioneers who embody inspiration: Joséphine Cochrane (dishwasher), Léon Foucault, Eugène Poubelle, Marie Curie, Aya Nakamura (digital music innovation), etc. 

Interactive stations:

• Decode French innovation vocabulary (prototype, ingénieur, durable, numérique, IA).

• Build a mini Art Deco or Art Nouveau structure inspired by French design movements.

• “Inspire un futur gadget” — students sketch an invention and label it in French.

• Students write a short reflection: « Comment l’innovation francophone t’inspire-t-elle ? » 

🍽️ 3. Pop-Up Francophone Café (Core idea: A warm, creative space where students express inspiration through food, culture, and conversation.)
